Early years…

Managing Partner, Stuart McDaniel was first dubbed “GuRuStu” at the young age of fifteen. After resolving some computer issues, his Pastor, Ted Heaston, expressed his appreciation by saying, “You’re such a guru. I’m going to call you “GuRuStu.” As others followed suit, the name soon shaped a trademark, and McDaniel realized great success as a sole proprietor.

Moving forward…

Under the name GuRuStu Designs, McDaniel worked for the Tulsarama Board to design and maintain a website for Tulsa’s buried car, “Miss Belvedere”. The site received global recognition and experienced 3.4 million hits during the 3 day event. New opportunities for McDaniel flourished afterwards. As staffing increased, GuRuStu Designs restructured to become the GuRuStu Group, expanding its creative services to include categories, such as touch screens, print designs and illustrations, event promotions, corporate branding, and social networking for the web.

In 2008, inspired by downtown Tulsa’s beautiful art deco, office space was secured in the TransOK Building at 6th and Main. Less than a year later, a move to a superior space within the same building, provided a larger “creative” room, a grander view of Tulsa’s skyline, and a more visible location, just off the elevator on the 4th floor.

Where we’re at now…

Today the GuRuStu Group employs 11 personnel who team together to fulfill the creative and supportive roles necessary to dazzle the industry. Our offices are located at 2 W. 6th Street, Suite 402, in the heart of downtown Tulsa. We would love you to stop by for a visit!
